Tiger Woods faced a challenging time at Royal Troon, ending 14 over par after two rounds.
While Tiger Woods’ legendary status may seem to be diminishing after his tough two days at the Open Championship, Bryson DeChambeau remains confident that the 15-time major champion still has more to offer. Woods missed the cut at Royal Troon for the third consecutive major, finishing 14 over par in difficult conditions.
Despite this setback, Woods, 48, has expressed his determination to return to the UK next year for the 153rd Open at Royal Portrush.
This declaration has been met with skepticism, with pundit Colin Montgomerie questioning why the 15-time major winner continues to compete at such a high level despite his physical challenges.
However, US Open champion DeChambeau is not ready to count him out. He believes Woods has earned the right to compete in major events and even predicts that Woods can achieve another major victory.
“He is probably the most influential figure in the game of golf,” DeChambeau said via Nuclr Golf. “He has done more than enough for this great game, and he continues to give back by playing in these tournaments and striving to win. He wants to win. He’s a competitor. I think that’s admirable, and I believe he can still do it.”
