jmworacle says the team needs to upgrade the offensive guard position

I recently posted my prediction the Tua would sign with another team. I was wrong. What needs to be done is to bolster the offensive guard position. Even the great Tom Brady was reduced to mortal status when he was pressured up the middle. Also needs to develope a thunder rushing attack to go with the lightening especially in cold weather games.

dnordel is another who wants to see Holland get his deal.

As bad as I want a magic pro bowl OL – we should lock up our guys long term – starting with Holland

SuperG! also wants a deal for Holland, but with the future in mind, cap-wise.

It would be great to lock up Holland, but somehow Grier will have to figure out the 2025 salary cap situation now that Tua’s been paid. I imagine they will have to restructure him next

The discussions around the team’s roster strategy highlight a few key priorities and concerns among the fans:

Upgrade the Offensive Guard Position: There is a consensus that strengthening the offensive line, particularly the guard position, is crucial. The example of Tom Brady’s struggles under pressure emphasizes the need for solid protection up the middle to ensure the quarterback can perform at his best. Improving the offensive guard position can also enhance the running game, especially in tough, cold-weather conditions.

Develop a Thunder Rushing Attack: Complementing the existing “lightning” rush with a more powerful “thunder” rushing option would provide balance and adaptability, particularly in adverse weather conditions. This could involve finding a more robust, physical running back to pair with quicker, more elusive runners.

Locking Up Key Players Long-Term: Fans are keen on securing key players like Jevon Holland with long-term deals. There’s a recognition that while improving the offensive line is important, retaining top talent is also crucial for the team’s future success.

Cap Management: Managing the salary cap, especially with Tua Tagovailoa’s recent contract, is a major concern. Fans acknowledge the need for General Manager Chris Grier to navigate cap constraints while securing long-term deals for key players and potentially restructuring existing contracts to create financial flexibility.

Balancing these needs will require strategic decision-making from the team’s management to ensure both immediate and long-term success.
