The NBA revealed the upcoming season’s schedule on Thursday, and as expected, the defending champions, the Boston Celtics, are set to play on Opening Night. To kick off their title defense, the Celtics will face one of their biggest rivals in the Eastern Conference.
These two teams also opened their 2023-24 seasons against each other, eventually playing five games due to the In-Season Tournament, with Boston winning four of those matchups, including a 118-109 victory. The Celtics and Knicks appeared to be on a collision course for the Eastern Conference Finals last season, but injuries plagued the Knicks, leading to their elimination by the Indiana Pacers in the second round.
