Mavericks Coach Defends Luka Dončić After NBA Finals Loss
Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd came to the defense of star player Luka Dončić following the team’s loss to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Kidd expressed frustration with the way Dončić was portrayed in the media and by referees during the series.
“Luka is a special talent, and he plays with a lot of passion,” Kidd said. “He gets a lot of attention, and sometimes that attention isn’t always fair. He’s been targeted by the refs and the media, and it’s not right.”
Dončić, who led the Mavericks in scoring and assists during the playoffs, was visibly frustrated at times during the series, particularly with the officiating. Kidd believes that the league needs to do a better job of protecting its star players.
“The NBA needs to take a look at how they’re treating Luka,” Kidd said. “He’s one of the best players in the league, and he deserves to be treated with respect.”
Dončić himself has remained relatively quiet about the criticism he has received. However, his actions on the court speak for themselves. He continues to be one of the most dominant players in the NBA, and his passion for the game is undeniable.
It remains to be seen whether the NBA will take any steps to address Kidd’s concerns. However, one thing is certain: Luka Dončić is here to stay, and he will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in the NBA for years to come.
