NHL insider reveals when Crosby’s Olympic future will be decided by Team Canada

All of Canada was shocked today when Captain Sidney Crosby got hurt in what might be his last Olympics.

Right now, Crosby’s injury doesn’t seem good. He couldn’t tough it out to come back into a crucial game that was tied, and sports doctors online are not very hopeful that he will play again. Insiders are aware of when the final medical decision will be made.

Team Canada will announce Crosby’s Olympic status before the semifinal game. According to a recent report from TSN insider Pierre LeBrun, Team Canada is likely to share news about Crosby’s condition on Thursday, just one day before their semifinal match against Finland.

It’s a good sign that Canada will update everyone on Crosby’s status before the semifinal since it looks like he hasn’t been completely ruled out of the tournament yet, although they are being careful with tests and scans.

Losing Crosby for any time during the tournament is a huge setback for Canada. He’s the leader of the team, has scored winning goals at the Olympics earlier in his career, and is important for giving them a stronger lineup as a great third line center.

Without Crosby, and with MacKinnon clearly playing through an injury from the game against France, Canada is definitely not as strong of a team as they were at the start of the tournament.

Even if he can’t play, Crosby can still be a leader for Team Canada. After he got hurt and couldn’t continue, Crosby still spoke to the team in the locker room during the second intermission to encourage them to win.

All fans of Team Canada will be anxiously waiting for news about Sidney Crosby. At 38 years old, this might be his last chance to represent Canada at the Olympics. Everyone hopes to avoid seeing a hockey legend’s international career end this way.
