Shocking moment as a defenseman falls unexpectedly during a playoff match
A scary event happened in Austria when Canadian defenseman Jordan Murray suddenly fell on the ice during a playoff game.
Murray, who plays for Klagenfurt AC, dropped to the ice without any visible reason during a quarterfinal game against Fehérvár at the Heidi Horten Arena. People in the arena say it got really quiet when the 33-year-old defenseman fell down near the team’s bench, and no one knew why. Medical staff acted fast.
Paramedics and an emergency doctor quickly arrived on the ice, and some coaches from the KAC team, including Kirk Furey and David Fischer, helped out. Reports say that medical teams tried CPR on Murray for about 10 minutes to help him.
Witnesses said Murray needed to be brought back to life a few times before he woke up.
After he was treated on the ice, he received an IV and was quickly taken to a nearby hospital for more treatment.
This scary event stopped the game right away. Officials later decided to cancel the game in the 18th minute, as players and staff from both teams were shaken by what had just happened.
The ICE Hockey League will decide later how this playoff game will be officially recorded.

Murray joined Klagenfurt AC last summer after playing several years in Germany’s DEL, where he played for teams like Schwenningen, Mannheim, and Wolfsburg. Earlier this year, he missed more than half of the regular season because of a serious injury.
Currently, no new information about Murray’s condition has been shared.
Currently, everyone in the hockey community is wishing for positive updates while keeping the veteran defense player, his family, and teammates in their thoughts.
