Canada’s Prime Minister is being accused of jinxing the Ottawa Senators.
Fans of the Ottawa Senators are really upset with Prime Minister Mark Carney, saying he and the “Carney Curse” are to blame for the team’s loss in a game they really needed to win on Saturday afternoon.
On Saturday, the Senators played against the Minnesota Wild while trying hard to keep their spot for the last Wild Card chance in the Eastern Conference of the NHL. The Senators had a total of 88 points, which is the same as the Detroit Red Wings, Columbus Blue Jackets, and Philadelphia Flyers, meaning all four teams felt a lot of pressure to separate themselves from the rest.
Sadly for the Senators, the Wild dominated the game right from the beginning, taking a strong 2-0 lead early on and never looking back. They ended up winning 4-1.

After the loss, a video surfaced where Mark Carney was seen with the Senators’ owner Michael Andlauer, and fans in Ottawa quickly started blaming him for the team’s bad luck, referring to it as the Carney Curse.
This curse has been associated with losses for other Canadian teams in the past, particularly the Edmonton Oilers and the Toronto Blue Jays, showing that there are quite a few superstitious fans in Ottawa.
