Video has come out showing a fight between two groups of fans while the first game of the Buffalo Sabres and Montreal Canadiens series was happening.
After the Sabres won the first game against the Canadiens, a small scuffle broke out outside of KeyBank Center in Buffalo. Some people from HabsFanTV talked about this on social media, which made some Buffalo fans respond strongly.
Even though HabsFanTV didn’t post the video themselves, it was shared online by a person who claims to report on the Buffalo Bills football team. This person aimed to show that no fight happened. However, in the video, we see what looks like a drunk fan trying to tackle a guy dressed in Canadiens gear, who is trying really hard to avoid getting into a fight.
You can watch the video below and decide for yourself:
HabsFanTV said that this was the first time they had encountered this kind of attack while covering a game on the road, but they didn’t want to share the video first because it didn’t show the Sabres fan base in a good way. They have now responded to the video, saying they believe this one person does not represent all Sabres fans.
“We didn’t want to share this video because it doesn’t show the Sabres fans we met during our four days here, which you can see from all the great Sabres fans who stepped in to help get this guy away,” the outlet stated on Friday.
If you go to a game during this series or any other in the Stanley Cup playoffs, please avoid using violence.
