Mark Kastelic faces off against the NHL’s toughest fighter.
Right now, anyone who stands up to Columbus Blue Jackets tough guy Mathieu Olivier should be acknowledged, and that definitely applies to Boston Bruins player Mark Kastelic.
On Sunday, Kastelic and the Bruins played against the Blue Jackets, and in the last few minutes of the first period, Kastelic and Olivier decided to fight. They started battling right after a face-off in the Blue Jackets’ zone, showing that Kastelic was ready for this fight, even if it seems surprising.
The two players skated to center ice where they locked up and traded a flurry of punches. They threw powerful right hooks at each other, landing hit after hit, neither one giving in at first.
However, Olivier is widely seen as the NHL’s top heavyweight fighter, and he proved that by taking all the hits from Kastelic while starting to wear him down with his own attacks. As the fight went on, Kastelic began to lose his balance, but to his credit, he kept getting back up, not backing down even when facing someone as scary as Olivier.
It was an intense fight, and you can see it all in the video below:
