Linus Ullmark’s absence is causing a lot of chatter, and fans think something big is about to happen in Ottawa.
The Ottawa Senators are dealing with a lot of rumors this week because goalie Linus Ullmark is taking a break for personal reasons since December 28. The team hasn’t explained why he left, just saying it’s for “personal reasons. ” But social media is buzzing with wild speculations.
There are some unconfirmed claims online suggesting that Ullmark cheated on his wife Moa Wikman, which might be straining his relationships with his teammates. There are also unproven reports that say Ullmark has shared private information about other Senators players being unfaithful. Additionally, it’s being rumored that captain Brady Tkachuk might be having issues at home.
Later on Thursday night, the Senators addressed the rumors, saying that the whole story is made up and not true. They also called out “trolls and sick people” who spread these rumors and confirmed that Ullmark is away for personal reasons, and they fully support him.
I personally think this might not be the best choice since it brings more attention to something that could be ignored. Now the real news outlets have to cover this. . .
Some social media posts still say the team wants to get rid of Ullmark, while others think this situation could lead captain Brady Tkachuk to ask for a trade, maybe to join his brother Matthew Tkachuk in Florida. If this all leads to questions about Tkachuk’s leadership, it might be the breaking point for him.
While nothing is certain, fans are already guessing what will happen next:
“Maybe now is the perfect time to work on a trade for Brady Tkachuk. ”
“If these rumors about the Senators are right, Brady Tkachuk could be playing for the Florida Panthers by the trade deadline. ”
“Brady needs his family during this tough time — Florida is where he should be.”
The Senators really didn’t show up to play well against the Avalanche in Colorado, suffering a tough 8-2 defeat. Tkachuk managed to score once, and surprisingly, Tim Stutzle started a fight.
While the Senators attempt to deal with this unpredictability, hockey fans are paying attention (and grabbing some snacks, trust me! ). Is this going to lead to big changes in the team, or can Ottawa handle the situation?
Later on Friday, insider Elliotte Friedman talked about the situation in his weekly 32 Thoughts podcast. He mentioned that the Senators’ reaction was both reasonable and risky. Now that they’ve made a statement, it’s tough to ignore, and several fans and experts think the Senators should have kept quiet. They’ve turned this into a topic of discussion.
Friedman repeatedly stated, “This is not finished,” when discussing the situation.

Nevertheless, Friedman thinks the team felt they had to speak up and are clearly showing their support for their players.
Naturally, as soon as the accusations surfaced, trade rumors started flying around. Honestly, it’s hard to blame the players for wanting to leave when their personal lives are getting involved in all this. It’s about winning and losing.
