Buffalo Bills Select RB Ray Davis in the 4th Round of the 2024 NFL Draft

Orchard Park, N.Y. — With the 128th pick in the fourth round of the NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills chose Ray Davis, a running back from Kentucky.

Davis, 24, had an impressive season with the Wildcats, rushing for 1,129 yards and scoring 21 touchdowns. Lance Zierlein of NFL.com had rated Davis as a fourth-round prospect, highlighting his potential as a versatile back. Zierlein described him as a “three-down back with a solid mix of toughness between the tackles and productivity out of the backfield.”

Last season, James Cook was the primary running back for the Bills, supported by Ty Johnson, who re-signed with the team, and seasoned players Latavius Murray and Leonard Fournette. Davis’s collegiate career included stints at Temple and Vanderbilt before he finished at Kentucky. Notably, both Davis and Cook are the same age.

Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network compared Davis’s physique to that of Frank Gore, a five-time Pro Bowl running back who played for the Bills in 2019. Davis, who stands 5-foot-8 and weighs 211 pounds, made history as the first running back to achieve 1,000-yard rushing seasons at three different FCS schools: Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Temple.
