Hamilton rejects the ‘depressing’ allegation regarding Mercedes’s performance

Lewis Hamilton is in his final season with the Mercedes team before his transition to Ferrari next year.

Hamilton has refuted claims that Mercedes’ current struggle for improved performance is “depressing.”

In recent years, Mercedes has fallen behind in the F1 rankings, grappling with performance issues under the current technical regulations.

The team, based in Brackley, is still aiming for its first podium finish of the season and is currently fourth in the constructors’ championship.

Team principal Toto Wolff has indicated that it will take several races for Mercedes’ upgrades to show significant improvement.

When questioned by media, including RacingNews365, if this delay is disheartening, the seven-time world champion responded: “I wouldn’t say it’s depressing – it’s just a patience game.

“You make do with what you have and maximize the tools available today, tomorrow, and this weekend.

“But it is really encouraging that we are seeing progress back in the factory and the wind tunnel.”
