Hockey Shock: Oilers Secretly Snatch Josh Bloom from Vancouver – Fans Furious Over What This Means

The left-winger has made 15 goals and 13 assists while playing for the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings this season.

EDMONTON, AB – The Edmonton Oilers shared on Friday that they have traded for forward Josh Bloom from the Vancouver Canucks, giving away forward Jayden Grubbe in return.

Josh Bloom is a 22-year-old left-winger from Oakville, Ontario. He was picked 95th overall by the Canucks in the 2021 NHL Draft. This season, he has played 19 games with both the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks and the ECHL’s Kalamazoo Wings, where he scored one goal with Abbotsford and got 15 goals and 13 assists with Kalamazoo.

He won the 2024 Memorial Cup while with the host team Saginaw Spirit and has also played for the North Bay Battalion in the Ontario Hockey League.

Bloom will be joining the Oilers’ ECHL team, the Fort Wayne Komets.
