Goalie prospect Connor Ungar has quickly climbed up the ranks in the Oilers organization this season and has stunned everyone in the hockey community with an amazing save.
Ungar seemed to come out of nowhere to become the number one goalie prospect for the Oilers. Edmonton picked up the Calgary-born goalie who wasn’t drafted in March 2024, and he is now likely ranked as the Oilers’ third best goalie.

In the first period of last night’s match against the Ontario Reign, Ungar demonstrated why everyone is excited about him. During a fast play, Ungar leaped across the crease to make an incredible save using the blade of his stick.
Sometimes, the most impressive save of the hockey season happens outside the NHL. Ungar’s save will definitely be remembered as one of the top ones this year.
Connor Ungar might be the best prospect this team has had in a long, long time…

Ungar may be shorter than most goalies at 6 feet tall, but with his impressive athletic skills, he always has a shot at blocking a puck. His quick movement and determination are things that Oilers fans are not used to seeing.
This isn’t the only amazing moment for Ungar this season; he has been truly outstanding in the AHL. With a . 939 save percentage over 10 games, he’s arguably been the top goalie in the minor leagues.

Among recent prospects, no Oilers’ goalie has achieved this kind of success in the AHL. It seems like there’s something special about him.
Ungar has risen fast since he played at Brock University just two seasons ago. If he keeps up a save percentage near . 940 this season, he will likely get a chance to play in the NHL in the future.
