Patriots Villain Believes Team Regrets Drafting Drake Maye

New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo made it clear last week that rookie quarterback Drake Maye has “a lot to work on.”

This candid assessment caught the attention of many, including former NFL player Plaxico Burress, who shared his thoughts on “The Carton Show” on Monday.

Burress interpreted Mayo’s comments as potentially troubling for the Patriots and their fans. He suggested that Mayo’s statement might imply doubts about Maye’s selection in the draft, hinting that the team could be questioning their choice.

On Wednesday morning, NESN’s Travis Thomas and George Balekji delved into the topic on the “Foxboro Rush” podcast. Alongside discussing the NFL’s Rooney Rule and the Patriots’ hiring of Eliot Wolf, they also speculated on Tom Brady’s future as a football analyst.

Unlike Burress, Thomas and Balekji did not share his pessimistic view. For their full discussion, you can watch the “Foxboro Rush” episode in the YouTube video above.
