Rick Tocchet faces backlash over recent comments about Matvei Michkov.

Fans are starting to turn against Tocchet as problems with Michkov keep happening.

The Philadelphia Flyers might have a real issue as the conflict between head coach Rick Tocchet and star player Matvei Michkov just won’t go away.

The Flyers just had a big victory over their rival team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, on Saturday night. In that game, Michkov played as a right winger, which is his usual position. This change was obvious since Michkov has mostly played on the right side in his hockey career, and it worked well, as he got an assist in the Flyers’ 4-3 win over the Penguins.

However, Tocchet, who has often clashed with Michkov this season, surprisingly thinks that having Michkov play right wing might not be the best idea for the long haul.

“Well, with Bobby leaving, Mich wants to give it a try. We’ll see how it goes. I have my opinions on that, but we’ll just wait and see,” said Tocchet about Michkov’s switch to right wing.

Tocchet’s comments seem to have really upset many Flyers fans, as they are posting furious reactions, with some even calling for Tocchet to be fired for how he has dealt with Michkov this season.

Here are just a few notable examples:

Fans in Philadelphia look like they are losing their patience with Tocchet on this issue, and to make things worse for him, it seems that most of them feel this way.
