The Buffalo Sabres have successfully brought in a past player from the Edmonton Oilers to strengthen their team as they aim for the playoffs.
Buffalo hasn’t made it to the playoffs since 2011, which has been a long wait for the city for more than ten years.
However, this year seems different. The Sabres are currently sharing first place in the Atlantic Division with the Tampa Bay Lightning, boasting a record of 37 wins, 19 losses, and 6 overtime losses.
They have a total of 80 points and their team looks ready to take on challenges. But the management realized they needed extra toughness to get through a seven-game series.
The team announced that they have signed a Stanley Cup finalist named Sam Carrick, acquiring him from the New York Rangers on Thursday.
In return, the Sabres are giving up a third-round pick and a sixth-round pick in the 2026 draft to the Rangers.
This shows that the team leaders are ready to make moves instead of just waiting around.
