Suns GM answers whether team would trade their Big 3

The Phoenix Suns have yet to meet expectations after acquiring Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal to team up with Devin Booker. However, this does not mean the team is ready to make major changes.

Suns general manager James Jones emphasized in an interview on “The Burns and Gambo Show” on Arizona Sports radio that the team intends to keep their “big three” intact.

This approach is not surprising.

The Suns finished the season with a 49-33 record, securing the sixth seed in the competitive Western Conference. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

In response, the Suns quickly fired head coach Frank Vogel and brought in Mike Budenholzer as his replacement. Having invested heavily in acquiring Durant and Beal, the team is opting for a coaching change to maximize their chances of success before considering any major roster changes.

Key for the Suns moving forward is ensuring their star players remain healthy. Durant, at 36 years old and entering his 16th NBA season, and Beal, at 31 years old and in his 12th season, are both nearing the latter stages of their careers.
