Switzerland confirms worst news vs. Canada

Team Switzerland has shared some really bad news for Kevin Fiala after his serious injury today when playing against Team Canada – their star player will be completely out of the Olympics.

With less than three minutes left in the third period, Fiala got tangled up with Tom Wilson, and Canada’s player ended up falling on Fiala’s left leg. Right away, it seemed like this could be a terrible injury.

Team Switzerland shares that Fiala was taken to a hospital and will not be part of the Olympics anymore.
After the game, the coach of Switzerland said that Fiala was taken to a hospital in Milan, and they think he won’t be able to continue in the Olympics.

When Fiala couldn’t even get up while lying on the ice and had to be carried off, most hockey fans thought this would happen. It’s really sad to see an athlete miss out on such an amazing chance to compete in the Olympics.

An online sports doctor named Harjas Grewal expressed his opinion that the injury might be a dislocated hip, which can cause very serious problems if it is not treated right away.

This injury will probably impact Fiala’s ability to play for the Los Angeles Kings for the rest of the NHL season. Fiala is one of their top scorers, and losing him during the important final games of the regular season would be a big deal. In 56 games this year, Fiala has scored 18 goals and earned 40 points for LA.

Everyone at the game felt how serious the injury was, and even Team Canada came over to show their concern.

We really hope Fiala can recover well from this very bad injury and get back on the ice this season – but it’s tough to be out for the rest of the Olympics and not be part of a strong Swiss team.
