Canada in hot water after cheating claims at the Olympics.
This week, things got tense at the Winter Olympic Games when Canada faced off against Sweden in a hockey rivalry that turned messy on the ice.
Even though Canada and Sweden are well-known rivals in hockey, this issue actually happened in a curling match. Team Canada, led by Brad Jacobs, played against Team Sweden, led by Niklas Edin. You might wonder how serious things can get during a curling game, but this situation became quite serious because the Swedes accused the Canadians of cheating.

Oskar Eriksson from Sweden was the one who made the accusation, specifically pointing fingers at Marc Kennedy from Canada. He claimed that Kennedy was interfering with the curling stones in a way that wasn’t allowed. Eriksson seemed very sure of himself, even saying they had video proof of what happened. This video was shown and talked about a lot during the Swedish broadcast of the event.

You can check out the video of the initial disagreement and the angle captured by the Swedish team below:
Kennedy has firmly denied the cheating claims.
“I really respect Oskar Eriksson,” Kennedy told the National Post. “He’s one of the greatest players out there. I just told him that I would never say he cheated. I’ve been playing for 25 years. He brought someone in to watch us to make sure we weren’t doing anything wrong. The official was watching us for six ends and didn’t say anything, yet he keeps bringing it up in the ninth end.”
Canada ended up winning against Sweden with a score of 8 to 6, but their victory has stirred up a lot of controversy.
