Tiger Woods has been keeping busy. But is he ready for the 2024 PGA Championship

In the whirlwind of recent weeks, Tiger Woods has been on the move.

Fresh off the launch of his latest Sun Day Red apparel line, Woods took center stage on shows like The Tonight Show and The Today Show to promote his new collection.

Amidst his busy schedule, Woods found time to check in on the progress at Trout National – The Reserve, a golf course being constructed in Vineland, New Jersey, for MLB star Mike Trout, by his own design firm. Sharing glimpses of the evolving course on social media, Woods expressed enthusiasm for the project’s rapid advancement. In a playful nod to Trout’s absence due to recent surgery, Woods reassured him, “We’ve got everything under control while you’re in season. Can’t wait until we tee it up.”

(Wonder if Tiger’s aware that Trout is currently recovering from surgery to mend a torn left meniscus, potentially sidelining him for two to three months.)

This week, Tiger Woods is making a triumphant return to the golfing scene, as he gears up for the upcoming PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville from May 16-19. Stepping onto the same course where he clinched one of his four Wanamaker trophies back in 2000, Woods is back in his element.

The PGA Championship’s official social media channels have been buzzing with excitement, sharing captivating snapshots of Woods as he prepares for the tournament. It’s been a brief hiatus for Woods since the Masters last month, where he made a notable appearance, although he faced challenges and ended up at the bottom of the scoreboard. But now, he’s back with a renewed vigor and determination to reclaim his spot among golf’s elite.

During his recent appearances on talk shows, Tiger expressed his desire to compete in the majors on a monthly basis. As he embarks on his quest for a 16th major title, his first since the harrowing car accident, speculation abounds regarding his performance.

ESPN analyst and two-time major champion Andy North believes Tiger’s chances improve with each major he enters. North points out Tiger’s fond memories of Valhalla, where he has showcased remarkable skills in the past. However, North emphasizes the importance of Tiger’s recent form and practice regimen. The state of his short game and physical condition will likely dictate his success. Notably, the upcoming major promises warmer weather, which could benefit Tiger, who has often contended with adverse conditions in past tournaments.

At 48, Tiger’s last major victory dates back to the 2019 Masters, while his most recent PGA Championship win occurred in 2007. As he strives to add to his illustrious career, all eyes are on Tiger Woods and his journey back to the top of the golfing world.
