Andrew Mangiapane is being talked about in trade rumors, and the Toronto Maple Leafs seem to be the main focus, with their answer being a clear “no.”
Nick Kypreos mentioned that the Edmonton Oilers were ready to trade Mangiapane to Toronto in exchange for Matias Maccelli.
However, it seems like the Maple Leafs were not very interested, which raises questions about what they are really waiting for.

Kypreos suggested that the issue in Edmonton is about fitting players into the system, not a lack of skill.
Mangiapane is 29 years old and was picked in the sixth round by the Calgary Flames in 2015. He appears to be a great player on paper, but he might not fit well into a new team.
Currently, his stats for the 2025-26 season show 7 goals and 7 assists for a total of 14 points, which isn’t great if you’re looking for scoring.
However, his contract isn’t overly expensive, costing $3.6 million against the salary cap until 2026-27, so both good and less successful teams might be interested.
Maccelli is 25 years old and was chosen in the fourth round of the 2019 draft by the Arizona Coyotes. It seems Toronto views him as more valuable than just being included in a trade.
This season, he has 10 goals and 14 assists, and he’s shown skill on the power play when given the chance by the Leafs.
