Trent Frederic is back in action for Edmonton. He is back on a regular line with Kris Knoblauch relying on him again, alongside Jason Dickinson and Kasperi Kapanen.

Frederic isn’t returning to lead the top six or take control of the power play.
He is back to make plays tougher, finish checks, and provide the Oilers with another line that can push the game into a physical style.

What Edmonton needs from Frederic is straightforward hockey and enough grit to change the atmosphere of a period.
The way the line works together is important too.
Dickinson is good in the center, Kapanen has great speed, and Frederic brings the strength that can make a quiet line more challenging to deal with.
This is probably a better way to see the player instead of focusing on scoring, which isn’t really his strong point.
If he feels at ease right from the start, Edmonton becomes a bit tougher to face in the deeper parts of their lineup.
