GM Candidate Withdraws from Panthers Job Opening

Detroit Lions Chief Operating Officer Mike Disner has officially removed his name from consideration for the open general manager position with the Carolina Panthers, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network

Disner has had his hands in just about everything over the course of his 16 years in the NFL.

He has an extensive background in contract negotiations and roster construction, putting those skills to use in a variety of roles but did get his start as a scouting assistant with the New England Patriots in 2007.

He was featured in The Athletic’s 40 Under 40 list in 2020 and 2021.

The Panthers have conducted a second round of interviews with Eagles assistant GM Alec Halaby, Giants assistant GM Brandon Brown, and Panthers interim GM Dan Morgan.
