NHL insider reveals new injury update on Fiala’s awful injury vs. Canada

Kevin Fiala got hurt yesterday during the game between Canada and Switzerland, and now it’s been confirmed that he’s done for the Olympics and the NHL season.

Awkward hit leads to a major injury

Fiala was on the ice for a long time after he got pushed into the boards by Canadian player Tom Wilson toward the end of the third period in yesterday’s match.

The star player from the Kings was later taken off the ice on a stretcher and brought to a hospital in Milan.

But it seems his injury actually happened when Wilson fell awkwardly on Fiala’s leg while they were tangled up on the ground.

Wilson described the play as a normal move that often happens in the NHL.

“It’s just unfortunate,” Wilson said. “He’s a competitive player, and with the Olympics happening, I feel really bad that he might not be able to play anymore.

I’m sending my best wishes to him and his family. You never want to see anyone get hurt in a tournament like this. It’s disappointing for his country and his team, and I hope he recovers quickly. ”

Fiala’s teammate also spoke about the incident, agreeing that the injury was not meant to happen.

“It looked like a harmless play,” Nico Hischier said. “I don’t think there was any intention to hurt him. It’s just an unfortunate situation when you get tangled up and someone falls and twists a leg.”

The 29-year-old Fiala has scored 18 goals and has 40 points in 56 games this season for the Kings, who were just three points behind the Ducks for the second wild card spot in the Western Conference as they went into the Olympic break. Fiala’s absence will definitely be felt by LA for the rest of the season.
