Wild and NHL make announcements after a terrible tragedy occurs nearby.
A terrible event has happened very close to the friends of hockey.
In a surprising and sad update, the Minnesota Wild announced on Sunday that hockey reporter Jessi Pierce has died in a house fire. This event took place in White Bear Lake on Saturday morning, and it sadly took the lives of Pierce, her three kids, Hudson, Cayden, and Avery, and their dog too.
The Minnesota Wild shared this statement:

The Minnesota Wild organization is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Jessi Pierce and her children. Jessi was a caring and kind person who really loved her family and everyone around her. She was a loyal supporter of hockey while covering the Wild and the NHL.

Jessi and her kids will be missed greatly. Our thoughts and heartfelt sympathy go to their family, friends, and everyone who knew and cherished them.
The National Hockey League also put out a statement:
The whole NHL community sends our thoughts and deepest sympathy to the Pierce family after the loss of Jessi Pierce and her three young kids. Jessi loved our sport and was an important part of the NHL.com team for ten years. We will miss her very much.
It is clear that Pierce touched many lives, as numerous messages of love, support, and sadness have been pouring in.
Minnesota Wild insider Michael Russo shared a particularly heartfelt message:
