Police share information after crash that killed three hockey players
On Monday, a terrible event happened to the Southern Alberta Mustangs junior hockey team when three of their players lost their lives in a car accident south of Calgary, Alberta.
The U. S. Premier Hockey League Premier Division team announced this sad news on social media just a few hours after the accident took place. The players were all in one car during the incident.
The Claresholm RCMP, who responded to the crash involving a car and a large truck that carries gravel, said that no one is expected to face criminal charges. Cpl.

Gina Slaney mentioned that early investigations show the truck was going north on Highway 2 when the car tried to go across to the east.
“There are no traffic lights at that intersection, and drivers going south have to cross two lanes of northbound traffic to reach the town,” Slaney noted. She also said that the weather was clear and visibility was fine for both drivers.
The RCMP reported that the families of the victims and the other driver involved have been updated on what happened. Since this accident has been classified as unintentional, there won’t be more updates expected.
The Alberta government stated that they will look into the intersection as a normal procedure after fatal accidents. The truck driver, who is from Stavely, had only minor injuries.

Caden Fine, center, from Birmingham, Alabama
JJ Wright, left winger, from Kamloops, British Columbia
Cameron Casorso, goaltender, from Kamloops, British Columbia
