Maple Leafs Fans Have Had ENOUGH After Brad Marchand’s Savage Nylander Take

Brad Marchand can’t help himself when Toronto is brought up, and the Florida Panthers winger took another shot from an Instagram comment section on Tuesday night.

One photo in the post shows William Nylander shirtless by a pool, holding dumbbells, along with other players’ offseason workout images.

The NHL’s account made a amusing remark about players getting in repetitions this summer. Marchand, however, had a different strategy.

“Don’t injure yourself with all that weight, willy,” he responded from his personal account.

He has previously criticized the Maple Leafs, and it is apparent that age has not at all slowed him down.

Does Marchand even have to justify attacking Toronto at this time? It’s beginning to seem like muscle memory.

This year’s timing stings a little more. Marchand is currently recovering from a lower-body ailment that is predicted to keep him out until at least October 10.

Despite this, he still concluded the previous campaign with 54 points in 52 games, including 27 goals and 27 assists, three game winners, and six power play goals.

Nylander is also having a fantastic year. He tallied 79 points in 65 games (30 goals, 49 assists), figures that maintain his relevance in all discussions concerning the Maple Leafs.

Additionally, Toronto’s offseason hasn’t been peaceful. In June, the Maple Leafs hired Jim Hiller as head coach, replacing a group that had witnessed the squad lose seven straight games at the end of the previous season.

For what it’s worth, Florida divided the season series with Toronto exactly in half, with two victories apiece, including a 6-2 road win in April.

It’s simple to troll on Instagram when your team already has the tiebreaker. Marchand is well aware that criticizing a divisional opponent following a split season series is a bit too much.

Seeing him hum at Toronto in the middle of August is similar to a comedian who can’t set down the microphone even after the performance has ended.

While Toronto finished with 78 points after going 32-36-14, Florida finished 40-38-4 with 84 points, which was enough to keep the Panthers in the discussion.

Marchand hasn’t been given the medical all-clear yet, and training camp is approaching. In South Florida, that timeline is far more important than one Instagram joke about a Leafs forward’s pool day.
