97 is everywhere on the ice! I can’t believe this guy can speed up even more!
Connor McDavid is playing like he was launched from a cannon.
The star player for the Edmonton Oilers is making his first appearance in the Olympic hockey today as Team Canada faces Team Czechia and… well… number 97 is not taking a break.
Right in his very first time on the ice in the Olympics, McDavid delivered a huge hit to Czech player Lukas Sedlak, sending Sedlak crashing to the ice behind the goal of his team.

Later in the play, Sedlak would get back at McDavid, earning the first penalty of the game. Canada didn’t score during the following powerplay, but it’s obvious that McDavid and his teammates are ready to compete.
Let’s go, Canada!
