Team Canada General Manager Doug Armstrong recently talked about Connor McDavid, expressing how much he admires the star’s dedication to winning.
“Winning gold is everything to Connor at this moment,” Armstrong shared with reporters on Wednesday. “He knows exactly what he wants and is very focused. He’s the top player in the world, and he appreciates that. His dedication to his game is unmatched.
“I think it’s great for Macklin Celebrini and all the other players to watch how the best perform, practice, and prepare. Sid, Connor, Nate – these guys are amazing professionals, and they work at a level that is above everyone else in the NHL. That’s what sets them apart. Connor is in a great place in his life, married, and has received all the awards possible. Now, he just needs to add Stanley Cups and gold medals to his collection. ”

For a true competitor, the Olympics is the ultimate stage, and winning gold there is what athletes aspire to achieve.
Connor McDavid now has the chance to show off his top skills on a team packed with talent and a strong desire to win.
The captain of the Oilers also recently wrote an article for Player’s Tribune called “Dear Canada,” which talks about his strong determination to do what he loves in the city he adores.
“I don’t want to play golf. I don’t want to relax by the pool. I don’t want to be in the Bahamas. I don’t need a break or a fresh start. I just want to be in Edmonton, playing hockey. I want to get back there, no matter what it takes. If that makes me sound robotic, then I guess I’m a robot. But I see it differently,” said McDavid.
“I’ve been in my career for 11 years. Of course, I think about how I will be remembered. I want my legacy to be that I am a winner. But not just anywhere. Here. Being in this city during a Cup run, feeling that excitement. . . it wouldn’t be the same anywhere else. ”
He’s not alone in his love for the sport, as shown in the next post.
Here’s to Team Canada bringing home the gold. Go for it, boys!
