Team USA makes a statement after tragic killings in Rhode Island

A pointless action by a troubled person has broken apart a whole community.

UPDATE 5: The head coach of Team USA, Mike Sullivan, shared a message about the sad shootings that happened during a hockey game at a school in Rhode Island yesterday afternoon.

From Sullivan:

“I want to say a few words about the awful event in Rhode Island. We are thinking of and praying for everyone affected by the shooting at the rink in Pawtucket. This really hits home for me since I grew up in Massachusetts, and two of our coaches (John Hynes and David Quinn) are from Rhode Island. It’s such a terrible event, and it feels very personal. I just want to recognize what happened and express our sorrow for everyone involved and for their loved ones. “
