EDMONTON — The Edmonton Oilers announced on Wednesday that they have signed forward William Nicholl to a three-year entry-level deal that will start next season.
Nicholl scored 15 goals and had 11 assists in 32 games with the London Knights in the Ontario Hockey League this season after he came back from an injury on December 31.
The 19-year-old from Ottawa has scored a total of 43 goals and made 62 assists in 168 regular-season games over four years with the Knights.
Last year, he played a key role in helping the London Knights win the Memorial Cup.
The Oilers picked Nicholl in the seventh round, which was 196th overall, during the 2024 NHL draft.
The Knights were in a tough spot, losing 3-0 in their first-round OHL playoff series against the Greyhounds before going into Game 4 on Wednesday in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
