Kris Knoblauch announced some bad news on Saturday.
The Edmonton Oilers are currently in a great spot, leading the Pacific Division in the NHL. However, there are still a lot of games left in the season, and they will face tough challenges to maintain their lead.
This Saturday night will be challenging for the Oilers as they play against the Vegas Golden Knights in their final regular season game.
On Saturday, Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch revealed that forward Zach Hyman won’t play tonight due to an injury. Knoblauch told reporters that if it were a playoff game, Hyman would be on the ice, meaning his injury isn’t too serious. Sadly, he won’t be participating against the Golden Knights. It looks like the Oilers being at the top of the Pacific Division has allowed Hyman a bit more time to heal any lingering injuries before the playoffs, which is good news for the team.
However, Hyman is very important for the Oilers, so his absence will be a loss for them. This situation is made worse by the fact that they are also missing star player Leon Draisaitl, which leaves their offense pretty weak.
Even though Hyman has only played 57 games for the Oilers this season, he has already scored 31 goals and made 20 assists, totaling 51 points so far.
