At barely 31 years old, it appears that Matt Dumba’s NHL career is over

The Pittsburgh Penguins said today that they have put 31-year-old defenseman Matt Dumba on waivers to end his contract.

Dumba is finishing his second year of a contract that gives him $3.75 million each year, and if nobody picks him up from waivers tomorrow, he will become a free agent.

This season, Dumba only played 11 games with the Penguins and 27 games with the team’s AHL partner.
