“They Let It Go Too Far…” | Game 4 Erupts After MacKinnon Is Seen Leaking Blood in Shocking On-Ice Scene

A frightening situation happened late in the second period of Game 4 when the Colorado Avalanche faced the Minnesota Wild.

Nathan MacKinnon got hit in the face by a puck that was sent away by his own teammate.

While defenseman Devon Toews was trying to clear the puck from in front of the Avalanche goal, it accidentally struck MacKinnon right in the mouth, and it was a tough hit.

The aftermath was pretty bad.

MacKinnon started bleeding a lot onto the ice and skated off looking very hurt while trainers hurried to assist him. There was so much blood that the arena staff had to clean it up from the ice before the game could keep going.

MacKinnon went directly to the locker room for medical attention as worry spread among Colorado fans, including his dad who was watching from the stands.

Even though it was a scary incident, MacKinnon managed to leave the rink on his own. This was just one more painful episode in what has already been a very rough and emotional playoff matchup between Colorado and Minnesota.
