Is the NHL’s Little Ball of Hate going to miss the beginning of the season?
Bad news for the Florida Panthers may have just arrived.
There has been a lot of excitement about a hockey competition in Slovakia this summer, which is being marketed as “Zee’s Last Shift.” As you would expect, it’s an occasion to honor longtime National Hockey League veteran Zdeno Chara, and it’s likely to include a who’s who of his previous teammates.

In the footage, Marchand explains that he was trying to recuperate from an injury throughout the summer, but he eventually got to the point where surgery was the only option. Regretfully, that choice entails a lengthy recovery and rehabilitation period, which has compelled Marchand to cancel his highly anticipated event appearance.
Marchand disclosed, “I regrettably won’t be able to participate and play in the game because I had to do it at the last minute and because of the time and recovery I’ll need.” “I need to complete the rehabilitation and take care of it so I can return to the ice as quickly as possible.”
You have to question whether this might have an impact on Marchand’s accessibility for the Panthers at the beginning of the season, since we are only a little over a month away from the start of the 2026–27 National Hockey League regular season.
