After being cut from the Brazil squad, Antony sends a message to Man United fans while sobbing at the First Interview

After authorities looked into allegations that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, Manchester United winger Antony was kicked out of the Brazil team.

Cavallin claimed that in January, after the Manchester derby versus City, Antony, 23, headbutted and attacked her in a hotel room in Manchester. In a statement, Antony refuted the accusations and acknowledged that he had provided the police with his testimony.

The Greater Manchester Police (GMP) acknowledged being made aware of the claims and announced that further inquiries were being made to determine the facts underlying the incident.

Ahead of World Cup qualifying matches against Bolivia and Peru, the Brazilian Football Confederation made the decision to cut Antony from the team as a result of the probe.

These claims were made by Cavallin in an interview with the Brazilian newspaper UOL, along with screenshots of her alleged injuries and WhatsApp communications. She stated that the alleged event at Manchester’s Hyatt Regency hotel on January 14 caused a cut to her head, harm to a breast implant, and cut fingers. In a separate incident from May, Antony allegedly hurled his phone at Cavallin and threatened to injure both her and himself, according to Cavallin.

According to Antony, he has been “falsely accused of assault” and that his family has “suffered in silence” as a result of the accusations. He said that he had “never experienced a circumstance similar to this one” and that, after the issue was resolved, “justice will prevail.”

Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal has taken Antony’s spot in the next games. Antony, who made his Brazil debut in 2021 and has 16 caps for his nation, was originally scheduled to play. He took part in Manchester United’s recent 3-1 loss to Arsenal before being kicked out of the Brazil team.
