Manchester Utd close-in on signing after international star agrees Old Trafford move Today – announcement imminent as medical schedule to take place soon

International talent decides to move to Old Trafford, and Manchester United closes in on signing him on January 1st. Today—an announcement is coming up

According to TEAMTalk, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting, a standout for Bayern Munich, has given the go-ahead to sign with Manchester United this month.

According to a report earlier this week by The Athletic, Manchester United is searching for a new striker and is considering low-budget players like Timo Werner, Thomas Muller, Choupo-Moting, and Serhou Guirassy.

As they wait for the league to ratify Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS Group’s takeover, which saw them purchase a 25% ownership in the team, the Red Devils are in dire need of money. Control over the team’s athletic decisions, including the last word on transfers, is part of its ownership.

Manchester United has expressed interest in former Cameroon international Choupo-Moting. The club can only sign one or two players on loan or spend very little to sign players on permanent agreements.

All clear

According to TeamTalk, Man Utd is very close to making their first signing of the January transfer season after Choupo-Moting approved the move to Old Trafford. According to the claim, which credits Christian Falk as the information’s source, Bayern is also prepared to conduct business with United should they make a formal offer. The SportBILD journalist makes this suggestion.

Choupo-Moting has played just 520 minutes for the German powerhouse this season and has only managed three goals in 19 outings. The 73-cap Cameroon international’s deal with the team is scheduled to expire at the conclusion of the current campaign.

Choupo-Moting’s record in English football is not great; during his tenure with Stoke City in 2017–18, he scored just five goals. But he would offer the Manchester United squad a different kind of threat.

As a substitute for Hojlund

Rasmus Hojlund has struggled since joining the Red Devils in the Premier League, scoring only one goal in 15 games. So far, this return has been underwhelming for a player who cost £72 million to sign in the summer.

With just two goals for the team this season, Anthony Martial’s performances have not impressed Erik ten Hag. While the Dane develops, he wants another striker to compete with Hojlund for minutes.

If a deal can be reached between the two clubs, Choupo-Moting seems willing to make the jump, and a loan arrangement could prove to be a wise option.
