Arsenal lose key player on eve of Man United Test

Thomas Partey is injured and will miss “a while” of Arsenal’s match against Manchester United.

Thomas Partey is out for Arsenal’s crucial Premier League match against Manchester United due to injury.

In each of the Gunners’ three Premier League games thus far, the midfielder has acted as the right back, much to the astonishment of many. The team has started the season unblemished.

However, the Ghanaian FA reports that Partey has been suspended for “a while,” prompting Mikel Arteta to adjust his defensive.

“Arsenal star Thomas Partey is left out of the squad due to injury,” stated the statement.

“According to his club, the player sustained an injury in practise and may be out for some time, but the Black Stars medical staff is keeping an eye on the situation.”

In place of Ben White going to right-back, Arteta could now play Gabriel at centre back opposite William Saliba for Sunday’s match against United.

Takehiro Tomiyasu is an alternative for Arteta and replaced Partey in the second half of Arsenal’s 2-2 tie with Fulham.
