According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Arsenal has contacted Mohammed Kudus about the prospect of signing the Ajax star this summer

Caught Offside recently spoke with Jacobs, who provided an update on Kudus’ future in light of interest from Brighton, Chelsea, and Arsenal.

Since the Gunners missed out on targets like Raphinha and Mykhaylo Mudryk in the last two of transfer windows, Mikel Arteta has been searching for a rival to Bukayo Saka.

Early in the window, Arsenal made significant purchases in order to sign Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber.

This summer, the Gunners might make a move for additional recruits, with Mohammed Kudus being strongly linked.

Kudus is indeed willing to move to the Emirates Stadium, according to Charles Watts’ most recent claim.

Before making a move for the Ghanaian, they must prioritize getting players out the door, according to Jacobs.

Regarding the hiring of Kudus, Arsenal contacts

Jacobs reports that Chelsea and Kudus are close to reaching a personal agreement in an interview with Caught Offside.

The 22-year-old’s potential transfer to Arsenal has also been discussed over the past several weeks.

“Chelsea has expressed interest in Mohammed Kudus, a midfielder for Ajax, and is even close to reaching a personal agreement. However, no offer has yet been made,” added Jacobs.

“Kudus is one of several candidates for offensive midfield, along with Gabri Veiga of Celta Vigo. He is valued because he can play either centrally or out wide and since last season, across all competitions, he scored 18 goals and received seven assists.

“Kudus is eager to leave Ajax and is under contract there until 2025. In April, he already turned down a one-year extension

“Arsenal is also interested, but they won’t move until after outgoings. They recently got in touch with each other. Brighton is also competing. Kudus will set you back roughly £40 million.

“I believe Chelsea would act quickly to sign an attack-minded midfielder if they decide to sell Conor Gallagher. West Ham’s £40 million offer for Gallagher was turned down. Mauricio Pochettino has given him plenty of preseason playing time, but Chelsea will sell if the price is right.

Kudus was ‘amazing’ for Ajax last season, scoring 18 goals and dishing out seven assists across all competitions.

Additionally, he shone for Ghana at the World Cup in Qatar, where he attracted attention by playing off the right side.

The gifted kid has demonstrated his versatility by playing across the frontline and as an advanced midfielder for Ajax.

It’s understandable why Arsenal is showing interest in him given that he would give Arteta a fantastic backup option for Saka while also filling other roles in the team.

Arsenal will need to act swiftly to sign Kudus, though, as teams like Chelsea and Brighton are interested in signing him.
