BREAKING – Man Utd have ‘new Mason Greenwood announcement plan after Spur match’ after speaking with staff

Sources claim that Manchester United has developed a new Mason Greenwood announcement plan after delaying a decision over his public future. United CEO Richard Arnold is postponing the disclosure of the investigation’s conclusions as harsh criticism intensifies

Arnold, who has been given final approval by the Glazers, reportedly had an announcement confirming Greenwood’s return scheduled for Friday, August 4th.

However, United was anxious to inform key parties, including the women’s team, sponsors, and the fan advisory board, in the days preceding the announcement.

The postponement was largely due to the club’s female players, three of whom are now in Australia training for the Women’s World Cup final on Sunday.

Since then, United has emphasized that no decision has been made definitively and has been under heavy fire over rumors of Greenwood’s impending readmission.

In response, The Athletic reports that United executives held crisis discussions on Thursday and Friday, with some club employees being wary of a comeback.

Some United employees have even mentioned feeling “shame” about the incident, and some have even discussed retiring as a result

Fans have also voiced their opinions by emailing Arnold to express their distaste of Greenwood’s comeback.

In response, United said that while they are’very attentive’ to the opinions of their supporters, they ‘also think that the verdict in this instance should be based primarily on the investigation’s findings.

The story questions whether United’s decision would be impacted by the outpouring of emotion on social media.

The 21-year-old forward’s future is currently expected to be revealed by the end of August, according to the staff.

Since his arrest in January 2022, when a video and pictures of an alleged sexual assault appeared online, Greenwood hasn’t participated in any United games or training sessions.

In October of that year, Greenwood was charged with attempted rape, coercive behavior, and assault resulting in actual bodily damage. He denied each and every charge.

Because “there was no longer a realistic possibility of conviction” as a result of “a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and additional material,” the Crown Prosecution Service dismissed all charges in February of this year.

On February 2, United announced that an internal investigation into Greenwood’s future at Old Trafford had begun.

Now that process is over, all that’s left is for a statement and confirmation to take place behind closed doors.
