David De Gea Sends an Emotional Message of Goodbye to Manchester United

As his storied career with the Reds comes to an end, David De Gea sent a moving farewell message to the Manchester United fans.

David spent 12 years perfecting his skill to become one of the greatest goalkeepers in club history after moving from Atletico Madrid to Manchester in the summer of 2011.

He leaves Old Trafford today with a legacy that includes 545 appearances, 190 clean sheets, and a wealth of accolades and records for himself.

David expressed his sincere gratitude to his fans in a touching statement on his official Twitter account:

“I say goodbye to all of the Manchester United fans with a sorrowful heart.

“I would like to express how deeply grateful and appreciative I am for the love you have shown me over the past 12 years.

Since the iconic Sir Alex Ferguson welcomed me to this club and gave me the opportunity to wear this badge, we’ve accomplished so much.

“I experienced a great sense of pride each time I wore this shirt. Only a select few talented footballers received the honour of leading the team and representing this organisation, the greatest club in the world.

“Since I’ve been here, the journey has been successful and wonderful. As a young child leaving Madrid, I could never have dreamt that we would accomplish what we did as a team.

“Now is the time for a fresh challenge, a chance to test my mettle in new situations and welcome fresh starts.

“Manchester moulded me, and it will always be a part of me. I will always hold this club, Old Trafford, and our amazing fans in my heart.

“We have seen it all,”
