Goodnews – Return Date Announced: Kobbie Mainoo drops Manchester United injury return date

Sadly, a match against Real Madrid resulted in an ankle injury for young Kobbie Mainoo, ending his excellent preseason with Manchester United

After showcasing his skills in the club’s first three exhibition matches and gaining a spot in the starting lineup for the midfield against the formidable Real Madrid at the NRG Stadium in Texas, Mainoo suffered the injury while the squad was on preseason tour in the United States.

However, his time on the pitch was brief; he was only there for a little more than five minutes before getting hurt and had to be replaced by Christian Eriksen. Sadly, Manchester United was already down 1-0 after a score by Jude Bellingham early on.

Immediately after the game, the 18-year-old updated his supporters on Instagram with the message: “I’ll be back stronger and in no time. Thank you for your encouraging messages.

When Mainoo replied to a question posed by the club captain Bruno Fernandes on social media, he appeared to be hinting at a return that wasn’t too far off. By posting a photo of himself online wearing a Manchester United jersey and adding a clock emoji, he has now teased more advancement and hinted that his comeback might be imminent.

Before United’s August trip to Tottenham, manager Erik ten Hag responded to a question on Mainoo’s recovery status by saying, “He’s not available at this time, but I expect he’ll be back in about two months, just in time for the winter fixtures. He will undoubtedly get the chance to shine.

On the final day of the transfer window, Manchester United signed midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on a loan, giving them crucial insurance while Mainoo and Mason Mount were sidelined with injuries.
