‘I find it embarrassing’: A Manchester United fan explains why he trusts Onana in the face of requests to bring back De Gea.

Andre Onana has come under fire for his performance in Manchester United’s 3-2 loss to Galatasaray.

Many fans are clamouring for him to be replaced immediately and for David de Gea to be reinstated as his replacement.

De Gea posts on Instagram just minutes after Onana’s gaffes in Galatasaray’s defeat.

‘I have to support him,’ says Ten Hag of Onana’s howlers in Galatasaray’s defeat.

However, one Manchester United supporter, Ryan, has highlighted why these calls are completely incorrect and why the club and fans should continue with Onana.

“Onana has made mistakes,” he wrote. Very poor errors. We lost both UCL games because of him. It’s terrible. But I find it disheartening that fans are now going full circle and demanding De Gea’s return…?

“We didn’t get rid of De Gea because he’s a bad custodian; we wanted to bring in a custodian who was good with the ball at his feet to improve our phase 1 build-up play.” It’s remarkable how quickly people forget about De Gea’s troubles from last season… Remember how De Gea was the reason we were eliminated from Europe last year?

“Some of the reactionary viewpoints I’ve seen on here are insane.” Some of our finest players and the manager are being accused of witchcraft. It’s simply needless. I hope EtH receives funding and has the time to turn this around. I still believe he’s the right man for the position.”

Onana is unlikely to lose his starting berth at Manchester United anytime soon, since the club believes he will be De Gea’s long-term replacement.
