Rumour has it that Manchester United and Hannibal Mejbri will discuss the possibilities of him signing a long-term contract at Old Trafford.

Mejbri’s contract expires in June, but United is expected to begin a one-year extension to keep him on the squad until 2025.

According to the Manchester Evening News, although the Red Devils intend to talk about a deal shortly, the 20-year-old’s future is not considered a pressing problem.

Mejbri made his United debut in the team’s 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday. Mejbri joined United from Monaco in a deal of €10 million (£8.7 million).

The midfielder scored his first goal for the team while coming off the bench in a 3-1 loss against Brighton.

Things haven’t always been simple for Tunisia International. Alex Telles, a former United left-back, and he are said to have gotten into a fight on the practise pitch in May 2022.

According to reports, the two players got into a “full-on scrap,” and interim manager Ralf Rangnick had to intervene to break up the incident.

Mejbri has been one of United’s few bright spots recently because he hasn’t let his wrath spill onto the pitch.

Turf Moor manager Erik ten Hag hailed the players’ contributions after the game, saying, “We provided some energy in the team.”

Rasmus Hojlund and Hannibal’s pressing, friendship, and how they begin the pressing moments were all well timed. There was a strong sense of community among Bruno and Rashy.

We were able to control the game during that moment because of how efficiently they began pushing. After they were vanquished, there was a period of recuperation, which Hannibal excelled at.
