Manchester United’s players are currently doing poorly. Here are the four guys who have recently struggled
Jadon Sancho
Sancho, the once-promising prodigy, has had a rocky road. After being out for several months last season, his return did not measure up to expectations. The speed and originality that marked him seemed to have vanished.
This season, according to manager Erik ten Hag, his training performance has not won him a berth in the team. To add to the turmoil, Sancho has gotten into social media spats with his coach.
Mason Mount
Mount’s transfer at Manchester United has been everything but smooth. Contract disputes have left a sour taste in his mouth, and his performance on the pitch hasn’t been much better. So far, the midfield combination of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, and Mount has not gelled.
His form has been dismal, with a lacklustre performance in the first two games of the new season. Mount was even spotted smiling with James Maddison following a 2-0 loss to Tottenham, demonstrating contempt to the team and fans.
Anthony Martial
Martial, a club veteran, appears to be falling short of expectations. Fans were unimpressed with his debut in the 2023/24 season against Nottingham Forest. Many believe his days as a significant player for the club are limited, with some even stating he’s become a spectator on the pitch.
Andre Onana
Andre Onana has exhibited glimpses of brilliance as well as periods of fragility. With seven goals conceded in the first four games of the season and only one clean sheet, his consistency has been called into doubt.
While he’s good with his feet and distribution, fans want to see more clean sheets and greater shot-stopping abilities, especially after he couldn’t save Declan Rice’s shot against Arsenal.
