Sofyan Amrabat has withdrawn from Morocco duty

After Sofyan Amrabat withdrew from international duty on Thursday, Manchester United was made aware of the extent of the injury scare. Amrabat was replaced, according to Morocco, in Walid Regragui’s team for the next matches against Burkina Faso and Liberia.

The 27-year-old made a fairytale deadline-day switch to United and left earlier this week to represent his nation.

Amrabat was acquired by the Red Devils on a season-long loan for £8.5 million with the option to purchase him for about £17 million.

However, worries were expressed on Thursday night when Morocco declared that he was no longer in the running for the country’s next games.

As the national team gets ready for its two games against Liberia in Agadir and Burkina Faso in Lens, France, Mr. Walid Regragui invited Yahya Gibran, a player for the Wydad Sports Club.

“To replace the hurt Sofyan Amrabat, national team coach Mr. Walid Regragui called up the player Yahya Jeeran.

On the other hand, the national team will travel to Agadir tomorrow, Friday, when it will hold its final practise before the game against Liberia, which will be held the following day, Saturday

Amrabat’s absence will add to Ten Hag’s injury woes, who are already missing a few important players.

There are concerns that Amrabat will have to wait to make his debut because players like Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, and Mason Mount are among those who are injured.

Concerns have been allayed by news that the former Fiorentina star’s injury is not serious, according to Moroccan journalist Izem Anass.

In order for Amrabat to be fully recovered when he returns to United after the international break, Morocco appears to have decided against risking him in their next matches.

The Athletic asserted after his transfer to United that the club pushed the transaction through despite discovering a small back issue during his physical.

It’s unknown if that problem has resurfaced since this week’s international training or if Amrabat has taken preventative action to ensure a smooth transition to his next club.

Amrabat might be named to Ten Hag’s starting lineup when Brighton and Hove Albion travel to Old Trafford the following Saturday in an effort to throw him into the deep end.

A few days later, United begin their Champions League season in Bayern Munich, where Ten Hag will undoubtedly need all of his defensive prowess.
