Tyson Fury told Carl Froch, a four-time world champion, in a text message that he was just taking the Francis Ngannou bout for the money, according to talkSPORT.

The former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou and Fury are scheduled to square off in October in Saudi Arabia, and the fight’s announcement has stirred up some controversy among fans of combat sports.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of fans wanted Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury to unify the heavyweight division, but many more wanted Ngannou to continue using his unique style of MMA.

But the two heavyweights have decided to share the ring later this year since they know it will bring in the maximum money for them.

What is Carl Froch’s opinion of the Fury vs. Ngannou fight?

“Well I’ve got to stand by what I said in my immediate reaction which was, ‘It’s a load of s***,'” Froch stated, admitting he had no interest in this bout. I have no interest in seeing Fury vs. Ngannou as a boxing fan. No inclination at all.

“It might draw huge crowds and earn a lot of money. It’s good if the Saudis want to spend a lot of money on it, in my opinion, but simply call it what it is and say it.

Frank Warren, in the meantime, has publicly said that the bout is a “big fight,” to which Froch responded that the term should not be used and that they should just state that it is a friendly contest.

Froch revealed: “He sent me a message saying, ‘Listen, it’s about the money. I spoke to Fury, and he said it’s about the money. He told me, “It’s the biggest fight in heavyweight boxing.” You’re going to make more money from this battle than from any other fight you would have accepted, I exclaimed. a conflict greater than Oleksandr Usyk? Yes, it’s a greater struggle, and I’m getting paid more than I would have, he said.

One fan who was responding to this statement claimed that Fury has “always been about the money.”

“Money has always been at the center of anger. He had previously stated that he dislikes boxing. although it had benefited him in the past. No, I don’t blame them.

The response of one fan seemed to suggest that he wasn’t the biggest Fury supporter.

“I hope Ngannou strikes it lucky and takes down the big oaf… I’d pay to witness that, but sadly it won’t happen, therefore I won’t be watching when the extremely hard John Fury sprints into the ring and Ngannou snaps shut that enormous mouth with a short, crisp right hand.

What is Anthony Joshua’s opinion of the Fury vs. Ngannou fight?

When Anthony Joshua was questioned about it at the press conference he had to announce his bout with Dillian Whyte, he responded, “Why? He ought to have been competing for the uncontested world heavyweight title. Directly up. That is absurd.

“Good luck to the man if we’re acknowledging his business. Do what you want. What does it have to do with me if it’s right for him? These are my three points of view.

Fury enters his battle with Ngannou having defeated Derek Chisora at the end of 2022 by way of a TKO in round ten.
