“UEFA New Statement on ARSMUN VAR” – Taylor near dropping as UEFA condemns the poor officiating of the big game and release new VAR decision

Regarding the poor match officiating during Sunday’s match between Arsenal and Manchester United, UEFA has not yet issued an official statement

The Future of Anthony Martial at Manchester United Seems Dim

Anthony Martial was given a starting position for Manchester United in the match against Arsenal on Sunday, further supporting the idea that his time at Old Trafford is drawing to a close.

The Frenchman started the game for the second time in a row, but his contribution was minor, and he was replaced just after an hour had passed. He appeared to be taking a leisurely Sunday stroll on the pitch at the Emirates Stadium, which was in sharp contrast to the intense contest in which United ultimately fell to the Gunners 2-1.

Martial’s performance was devoid of any meaningful scoring chances, and it is clear that at this point in his development, he is far from the potent striker Erik ten Hag’s team needs in order to compete for big awards.

A sizeable chunk of the crowd seemed to have grown sick of waiting for the injury-prone forward to put up consistent performances after nine seasons at Old Trafford.

Many Manchester United fans expressed their displeasure with Martial’s lacklustre performance on Twitter during the game, calling him “a shadow of his former self,” “looking like a football novice,” and “seemingly devoid of any impact.”

In contrast, Rasmus Hojlund, who replaced Martial and made his club debut, seems to have won over Manchester United supporters more. Although he didn’t have many scoring opportunities, the 20-year-old Danish attacker showed off his physical strength and was able to play a key role in the Man United assault.

Spectacular Ending at the Emirates The game at the Emirates Stadium had a gripping plot. Marcus Rashford shockingly broke the tie against the odds in the 27th minute after Arsenal had earlier dominated the game. Martin Odegaard of Arsenal soon answered for the home team, though, and within 100 seconds the score was level.

The controversial VAR judgements in the second half included the eventual overturning of the penalty that had first been given to Arsenal following a foul by Aaron Wan-Bissaka on Kai Havertz. A late Alejandro Garnacho goal for United was disallowed because of an offside call, adding to the drama.

Declan Rice scored his first goal for Arsenal in stoppage time, and Gabriel Jesus added a third, leaving Manchester United to lament a loss that had earlier seemed to be a victory.
