After getting Mason Greenwood on loan from Manchester United, Getafe supporters were seen dancing crazily in the street outside of their stadium.
The striker was loaned out by the Red Devils to the La Liga team after it was announced last week that he would be departing Old Trafford as the result of a six-month internal inquiry.
After key witnesses withdrew and fresh information surfaced, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped Greenwood’s charges in February of this year. He had been charged with attempted rape, domestic abuse, and controlling behaviour in January 2022.
The signing of Greenwood by Getafe came as a surprise on the final day of the transfer window, despite intense competition from clubs in Germany, Italy, Spain, and Turkey.

A group of supporters were seen dancing joyfully outside the Coliseum Alfonso Perez stadium as the announcement was made official.
Getafe posted a video from the official account with the caption, “The Coliseum just now. Greetings, Mason Greenwood”
Greenwood hasn’t played in a competitive match since January 2022, so it’s unlikely that he will make his Getafe debut this weekend when they take on Real Madrid.
He will most likely play, though, on September 17 following the international break against Osasuna.
